New Direct Flights From the UAE in 2026 | Dubai & Abu Dhabi Travel Updates

Travelers from the UAE will have even more destinations to explore before the end of 2026, with several new direct flight routes launching from Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

From the vibrant streets of Bangkok to the mountains of Nepal, the Nordic charm of Helsinki and the scenic west coast of Sweden, these new routes are giving UAE residents more convenient options for holidays, family visits and international travel.

Dubai to Bangkok with flydubai

Thailand continues to be one of the most popular destinations for travelers from the UAE, and connectivity is getting even better.

flydubai is expanding its Bangkok service to double-daily flights from 15 September 2026, operating between Dubai International Airport and Don Mueang International Airport.

The additional flights provide travelers with greater flexibility when planning a Bangkok holiday and improve connections for passengers traveling through Dubai.

Bangkok is well known for its temples, shopping districts, street food, nightlife and easy access to many of Thailand's most popular destinations.

Dubai to Pokhara, Nepal

Another exciting addition to the UAE flight network is the new direct connection between Dubai and Pokhara.

Starting 23 September 2026, flydubai will operate a daily direct service from Dubai International Airport to Pokhara International Airport.

The route is particularly significant because flydubai will become the first UAE airline to offer direct flights to Pokhara.

Located near the Annapurna mountain range, Pokhara is one of Nepal's most popular destinations for nature lovers and adventure travelers. The city is famous for its lakes, mountain scenery, trekking routes and outdoor activities.

Dubai to Helsinki with Emirates

Travelers planning a trip to Northern Europe will soon have a new direct option from Dubai.

Emirates will introduce a daily nonstop service between Dubai and Helsinki beginning 1 October 2026.

The new route will provide a year-round direct connection between the UAE and Finland and will be operated using the Emirates Airbus A350.

Helsinki is known for its modern design, waterfront atmosphere, Nordic architecture and easy access to Finland's natural landscapes.

For travelers planning a winter holiday, Finland is also one of Europe's most popular destinations for Northern Lights experiences, snowy landscapes and Lapland trips.

Abu Dhabi to Gothenburg, Sweden

Etihad Airways is also adding another European destination to its network with a new seasonal service between Abu Dhabi and Gothenburg.

Flights are scheduled to begin on 17 December 2026 and will operate four times per week until 21 March 2027.

The new service will create Gothenburg's first direct air connection with the Middle East and provide UAE travelers with easier access to Sweden's west coast.

Gothenburg is known for its picturesque canals, seafood, Scandinavian architecture, islands and relaxed coastal atmosphere.
