Etihad Launches Daily Abu Dhabi to Tashkent Flights: A New Uzbekistan Travel Option From the UAE
By Spread Wings Tourism LLC · August 22, 2026
Etihad Airways has expanded its network in Central Asia with the launch of a new daily nonstop service between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent, Uzbekistan.
The inaugural service arrived in Tashkent on August 10, 2026, marking Etihad Airways' first route to Uzbekistan. The new connection gives travelers from the UAE another convenient option for discovering one of Central Asia's most culturally rich destinations.
For UAE residents looking for something different from the usual holiday destinations, Uzbekistan is now much easier to reach.
Daily Direct Flights Between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent
Etihad's new route connects Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH) directly with Tashkent International Airport (TAS) on a daily basis.
According to Etihad's published schedule, flight EY830 departs Abu Dhabi at 9:10 PM and arrives in Tashkent at 1:35 AM the following day. The return service, EY831, departs Tashkent at 3:50 AM and arrives in Abu Dhabi at 6:35 AM. The route is scheduled to operate using an Airbus A320.
The daily frequency gives travelers more flexibility when planning short holidays, longer Uzbekistan itineraries, or multi-city trips across the country.
More Than Just Tashkent
One of the most useful parts of the new service is Etihad's codeshare partnership with Uzbekistan Airways.
Travelers can now book onward connections from Tashkent to eight destinations within Uzbekistan on a single itinerary:
- Samarkand
- Bukhara
- Urgench
- Fergana
- Namangan
- Nukus
- Termez
- Andijan
The partnership means travelers arriving from Abu Dhabi can use Tashkent as a gateway to explore more of Uzbekistan rather than limiting their trip to the capital.
This is especially useful for travelers interested in Uzbekistan's famous Silk Road cities.
Why Uzbekistan Is Worth Visiting
Uzbekistan offers a very different travel experience from many of the destinations commonly visited from the UAE.
The country is known for its historic Silk Road architecture, colourful Islamic monuments, traditional bazaars, distinctive local cuisine and centuries-old cities.
Tashkent combines modern city life with historic neighbourhoods, parks, markets and beautifully decorated metro stations. Etihad describes the capital as a city where ancient Silk Road heritage meets modern architecture and contemporary culture.
From Tashkent, travelers can continue to some of Uzbekistan's best-known destinations.
Samarkand is famous for Registan Square and its impressive blue-tiled architecture.
Bukhara is known for its preserved historic centre, traditional madrasas and old trading domes.
Khiva, normally reached through Urgench, offers one of the country's most atmospheric old-city experiences.
For travelers who enjoy culture, history, architecture and photography, Uzbekistan can be an excellent addition to a Central Asia travel bucket list.
A Convenient New Destination for UAE Travelers
Direct air connectivity is one of the biggest factors when choosing a short international holiday from the UAE.
With Etihad now operating daily between Abu Dhabi and Tashkent, travelers have more flexibility when building an Uzbekistan itinerary.
The new route also strengthens travel links between the UAE and Uzbekistan and makes it easier for visitors from Uzbekistan to connect through Abu Dhabi to destinations across the GCC, Europe, the Levant and North America.
